ALONE

Environmental issues are one of the biggest and most important issues of the 21st century and the future. At a time when we are drifting towards an irreversible process every year where the necessary precautions are not taken, this is the main starting point of my project and the source of my problem; the future of the world as a result of unprevented environmental issues. For this reason, to raise awareness about and point out environmental issues, I decided to create a 3D animated short film.
RESEARCH
At the beginning of the project, I examined the status of environmental issues and their effects. Afterward, as a result of my initial research, I prepared a list of these issues in order of impact and importance. Then, I chose three main environmental issues to outline the project: global warming, waste/pollution, and overpopulation/ deforestation. In order to benefit while creating the environments in my animation, I researched about impacts of the three issues I determined. By the help of these researches, I started to create scenarios and environmental designs about what kind of world we will encounter in the future if no precautions are taken.

"Alone" is a 3D animation that aims to draw attention and raise awareness of environmental problems that can cause irreversible harm if no action is taken today and in the future. The structure of the project and scenario of the animation is specifically designed to point out the main issues such as overpopulation, deforestation, waste, air pollution, and global warming. This main message was intended to be conveyed to the audience by showing a lonely "photographer robot" who wakes up shortly after humanity left the world and tries to understand what happened to the world, where people are going, and wanders everywhere to find a human.
CONCEPT
In this project, I used the 3D medium, which I think is the most appropriate tool of the modern era to show the possible future of the world and to make a futuristic depiction. The required level of realism in the dystopian environments I designed plays an important role in adapting the audience to the film and making them think about the future. That's why I determined the animation medium as 3D.
