After the global pandemic occurred at the beginning of 2020, the majority of people around the world had to stay indoors and survive without any normal interactions with others. Whilst the outside of the world was facing such harsh circumstances, hard times could be a chance for us to grow stronger and become better. “Blossom” is a short animation movie that intends to inspire people to take care of themselves in many ways and keep their sanity during hard times such as mandatory lockdowns and a global crisis.
According to the World Health Organization, these are the ways to cope with stress during a crisis (e.g. COVID-19 outbreak):
This project adopts an idea to criticize clients with a humorous style and make graphic designers unite on the problem. Animated posters are a way to let designers see the difference between working and non-working design more obviously in a different way and continue to do the right thing. Besides, that is a criticism of the disrespect for the graphic design profession, perhaps, even though it is not done consciously by clients. Hence, to make many graphic designers ponder how valuable it is to continue to create the working design and to struggle with this problem. Because if there is no professional organization that protects your rights, you should accomplish this by uniting in large masses.
Self-growth, self-care, coping mechanisms. "Blossom" is a short animation movie written, directed and animated by Yağmur Karabulut that tends to inspire people to take care of themselves and reminds them not to lose their focus during hard times.
To give the idea of focusing on yourself & grow through the struggles. It is mostly based on the mandatory lockdown during the current pandemic.

There was an attempt on making a short animation movie poster, but decided to use the artbook cover image to implement it into a style for advertising, poster and thumbnail image for the project. Here are some sketches as well as the final work.
I have designed an artbook for promotional purposes so that the animation could be communicated to a wider audience using a different medium other than animation.
I have made a GIF sticker pack that could be used on social media, such as Instagram story posts.
